How They Are Made?

A lamitube isn’t just one layer of material. It is a multi-layer sandwich (usually 5 to 7 layers) rolled into a cylinder and welded together.

The layers generally consist of:

• Polyethylene (PE) Layers: The inner and outer surfaces. The inner layer is “inert” (meaning it won’t react with the product), and the outer layer is smooth for high-quality printing.

• The Barrier Layer: This is the “brain” of the tube. It’s tucked in the middle to block oxygen, light, and moisture.

  • ABL (Aluminum Barrier Laminate): Uses a thin foil of aluminum. This is the gold standard for products that expire easily.

  • PBL (Plastic Barrier Laminate): Uses a clear plastic barrier (like EVOH). These are “bounce-back” tubes—they return to their original shape after you squeeze them.

Why Industries Love Them?

Lamitubes have largely replaced pure aluminum or pure plastic tubes for several reasons:

• Product Freshness: The aluminum or EVOH layer prevents the active ingredients (like the fluoride in toothpaste or chemicals in hair dye) from degrading.
